Spin State by Chris Moriarty

I used to read a lot of science fiction when I was younger, but Spin State is the first science fiction story I have read that was written “post-web”.   I appreciate how it takes the changes that have happened in modern technology and applies them to the story (the internet was one of the few modern technologies not well predicted by the early sci-fi writers).  This is opposed to how long it has taken cell phones to enter into modern mystery stories!  Even though the science might be believable, the story was lacking. As you read it, you believe it was written to become a movie, you can picture how they are going to do the special effects, and ability to jump from place to virtual place.  And the characters are designed as being shallow…  again, easier to convert to the big screen.  It might be awhile before I tackle another sci-fi story!
